Importing tips for potential buyers

Over the past year we have seen a renewed interest in the Irish & UK markets for Japanese Imports. As car enthusiasts this is great, it breathes life back into the car scene on this side of the world. But it is important as a perspective buyer to be careful, there are many importers out there who have set up facebook pages offering people ‘too good to be true’ prices, unfortunately more often than not these individuals are not registered businesses which is an obvious cause for concern when you are paying for your new car.

We would advise any buyer to always ask for a detailed breakdown on how your car is being invoiced and that the VAT and EU Duty paid on your behalf is being correctly declared and paid. Failure to pay this properly or false declarations may result in seizures of vehicles by customs and potential prosecution.

JDMAuctionWatch is a registered limited company meaning you can buy with confidence and know that your transaction will be processed securely, the vehicle we buy is always consigned to the buyer, insured at all times and any declarations made to customs will be fully correct.

Importing from Japan is a great way to buy a car – by choosing this route you are opening yourself up to limitless amounts of cars which are all graded and can be delivered to your door without ever needing to leave your house! We aim to make this an enjoyable experience and are constantly working to improve this process.

If you would like to meet with us – we are available during weekdays at our offices at Bracetown Business Park, Clonee, Dublin 15 and being car enthusiasts we are more than happy to offer advice and guidance on any aspect of importing even if you do not choose to avail of our services.

Whatever route you choose, we wish you the best of luck with your new import 🙂
